BEIJING, Oct. 30, Asiainfo Services, Inc. -- China's 112 airports have been equipped with advanced navigation systems produced by a joint venture, invested by AWA of Australia and the Tianjin Broadcasting Apparatus Factory of China.
The joint venture is also holding the lead in the installation of a microwave landing system at the Xi'an airport, according to third class criteria for landings issued by the CAAC. The Australian Civil Aviation Bureau has trained many groups of pilots for China International Airlines, Southern China Airlines, China United Airlines and Northwest China Airlines.
In addition, the AWA plans, in cooperation with Chinese higher education institutions, to train plane maintenance technicians and high-level aviation managerial personnel.
