Published by World Tibet Network News - Thursday, February 8, 1996Lhasa, Feb 5 (Xinhua) - China's Tibet autonomous region has worked out new measures to promote the overall development of its animal husbandry by increasing investment in the sector, and focusing on the construction of infrastructure. The region aims to reach an annual production capacity of 125,000 tons of meat and 250,000 tons of milk by the end of the century, in a bid to meet the needs of the rapidly improving economy and daily improving lives of the people. Priority will be given to the production of commercial milk and diary products and quality feed. In the meantime, tibet plans to reinforce infrastructure construction in the aspects of breeding livestock of fine breed, promoting science and technology and processing feed.
