Dear Mr. Caderius Van Veen,

Thank you very much for emailing us your comments on the latest issue of CORAFAX. Your remarks are very welcome, but I am not sure that we can completely agree on what you wrote.

First of all I would like to rimind you that Carmelo Palma is a member of the board of directors of CORA. In his article in the Italian newspaper "L'Opinione" Mr. Palma argues against Chirac's position, while you focus your comments on the Government's position; moreover some recent statements released by the French President go in the direction criticized by Mr. Palma.

As regards the Financial Times, I thank you for clarifying the Dutch position on the matter, but I take the liberty to add that you should complain to the Amsterdam office of FT rather than to those who read the newspapers and prepare our CORAFAX.

Regarding your final question: "What sense does it make for CORA to distribute Articles of newspapers, when the contents of these articles are incorrect?" well, as said before, if this is the case, what shall I tell you... we are trying to do our best in order to collect as much information as possible on drug-related issues, but we are more than open to discuss what we publish with people that share our interest and have an expertise in the field.

Nella sua educata risposta Cappato ringrazia per i commenti, chiarisce che Palma parlava di Chirac e non del governo, specifica inoltre come le recenti prese di posizione del presidente vadano nella direzione criticata da carmelo. Per la rassegna stampa, siccome la notizia del corafax si riferiva in particolar modo alla prima parte di un articolo del Financial Times, siamo rimasti sul vago, ringraziando il tipo per aver chiarito la posizione del governo olandese, ma gli abbiamo anche detto che noi poco possiamo se i giornali non riportano cose vere. Si conclude dicendo che siamo sempre aperti a discutere con quello che pubblichiamo, in particolare con gli esperti del settore.
