The Sami Parliament (the regional Parliament of Lapland) officially gave their full support to the Tibetan right to independence from China, and condemn Chinas' occupation. The President of the Sami Parliament Ole Henrik Magga thinks it is stange that the Norwegian Parliament (Shortinget) and the government don't give a diplomat condemnation of China. The Tibetan people are being sacrificed on a political altar, says Magga to Mrgenbladt. No one dares to confront China, and the silence is letting China keep on with what only can be characterised as genocide. Tibet is soon to vanish as a nation. We wish that our declaration will lead to that Tibet is not being forgotten, the Norwegian authorities should do the same. We cannot pretend that we don't see the systematic destruction China commits against Tibet. The Sami Parliament also recognizes Tibetan Government in Exile and their leader Dalai Lama. Negotiations without any preconditions must take place between the Chinese and the Tibetan Government in Exile, it
is the only way to solve the tragedy in Tibet, says Magga. (EuroTibet News N·1)
