Lhasa, August 14. (UPI). "In the days to come, we must safeguard stability, unswervingly wage a struggle against separation and firmly strike blows against these criminal activities," Wu Jun, Dy. director of the Tibetan Public Security Bureau told the People's Public Security News. "Tibetan public security organs at all levels will firmly wage a struggle against the separatist," he added in an interview published Thursday. China claims historical links with Tibet going back to the 13th century. It has fought a 40 year battle with separatist who have called for a semi-independent Tibet. The separatists, led chiefly by Tibet's God-King in exile, the Dalai Lama, claim Beijing has waged a war of cultural genocide against Tibet and flooded the area with ethnic Chinese.
