New Delhi, September 7. According to UPI, New Delhi. General Chi Haotian is the first Chinese Defense minister to visit India since the two countries fought a bloody Himalayan war in 1962. "It is a confidence building measure at the hightst level," a defense official said in New Delhi. Last December, a seven member Chinese military team visited India for the first time in 30 years to resume military relations severed by the '62 war. The Sino-Indian military revalry and border tensions are rooted in the '51 Chinese annexation of Tibet, which removed a buffer between the two ancient civilizations. (EuroTibet News N·2)
