Beijing, November 28. Domestic and foreign firms, some from the U.S., have signed agreements with the authorities in Tibet for joint development of a large mine 70 km from the capital Lhasa, the People's Daily said. It said the Lhasa and local governments have invested 10 million yuan since April this year to install a hot water pool and crushing, cleaning and other equipment at the mine, where production is due to start next year. The mine, with deposits of zinc, lead, copper, silver, gold and molybdenum, could produce up to 150 tonnes of ore a day when it is in production, it said. (EuroTibet News N·6)
