Paris, December 5. According to Reuter news agency, "The Dalai Lama, exiled spiritual leader of Tibet, called on Monday for more contact between religions as a way of stamping out hatred and conflict spurred by fundamentalism. Visiting the Paris Mosque during a two-day visit to France, the Buddhist leader who won the 1989 Nobel Peace Prize suggested everyone should be allowed to make pilgrimages to the holy sites of other religions as part of global reconciliation. 'I don't want to melt all religions together, but for them to keep their separate identities', he told a news conference. Greater understanding would help end hatred prompted by religious fundamentalism, which has contributed to fuel conflicts from the Middle East to Bosnia, he said". (EuroTibet News N·7)
