According to a source from Lhasa, towards the end of August this year the authorities announced the ban on pictures of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to offices in Lhasa. In September, all pictures of the Dalai Lama on sale in the market in Lhasa were confiscated with the order that henceforth no more could be sold. According to another source from Lhasa, the pictures confiscated from the Tibetans in Lhasa, including from the markets, were burned at the Jhama Lingkha (also known as Kuma Lingkha), an island market area in Lhasa's Kyichu River, located just across the TAR headquarters complex. There again the people were found asking amongst themselves whether the Cultural revolution had come back. Some reportedly shouted openly: "The Cultural Revolution is Back!" (EuroTibet News N·7)
