10 March
Mr. Jiang Zemin
President
Beijing
China
Mr. Jiang Zemin:
Today marks the 36th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising of 10 March 1959 when thousands of courageous Tibetan men and women rose up against your country's occupation of Tibet. 87,000 Tibetans were slaughtered by your army in that uprising.
In memory of these Tibetans who laid down their lives for the cause of Tibetan freedom and those 1.2 million Tibetans who died as a direct result of your occupation of Tibet, on this anniversary day, we the members of the US-Tibet Committee would like to remind you once again that the struggle for Tibetan freedom will be relentless, strong and determined. Our resolve will not weaken and our struggle will not cease until Tibet becomes free and independent again.
you have two choices. You could peacefully give back Tibet to its rightful owner and in this way save the dignity of China and the Chinese people. Or you could continue holding onto Tibet and face the undying wrath of the Tibetan people.
For the Tibetan people, their choice, their goal and their destiny is simple and clear: FRET TIBET FOR NOW AND FOREVER.
