| RIGHTS ABUSES CONTINUE IN CHINA, U.S. SAYS |
| Washington, February 1, 1995. According to Reuter, "China continued widespread human rights violations last year despite a U.S. decision to grant the country privileged trading status, the State Department reported Wednesday. 'In 1994 there continued to be widespread and well-documented human rights abuses in China, in violation of internationally accepted norms', the department said in its annual survey of human rights around the world". |
