According to AFP news agency, "Police baton-charged more than 2,500 Tibetan demonstrators at a Buddhist shrine north-east of Kathmandu Friday when they tried to march on the main street raising slogans denouncing China, a police source said. No arrests were made, the source added. More than 10,000 Tibetan refugees and monks living in Kathmandu attended a special prayer meeting at the Baudha Nath stupa to mark the 36th anniversary of the uprising against the Chinese occupation of Tibet".
