Washington, March 13, 1995. Voice of America increased their Tibetan language Service to 2 hours per day, just weeks short of the 4 year anniversary of the Tibetan language broadcasts. The Tibetan staff also conducted their first live interview by phone with Tseten Dorje, a VOA staff reporter who is in Dharamsala covering the Peace March. A major change in programming is the increase in feature stories on Tibet, in response to listener demand for more coverage of Tibetan issues. In 1994, VOA staff produced over 200 features on Tibet, in addition to ones provided by other VOA language services.
