The 1992 best guide award recipient in Tibet, Mr. Gendun Rinchen escaped and arrived safely in India on May 19, 1995. He was accused of being a
counter-revolutionary and arrested on the night of May 13, 1993. He was
released after severe interrogations and put under surveillance.
Since his arrival, he has given talks to the staff of Central Tibetan
Administration and Tibetan populace in Dharamsala. During his talk he
profoundly thanked European Community, US State Department, Amnesty
International, Asia Watch, T.I.N. Tibet Support Groups all over the world and thousands of individuals including Harrison Ford and his wife who helped him during his detention and subsequent release.
He hopes to meet all the above mentioned organizations and individuals in near future to thank them personally for taking up the issue seriously not just for one individual but bringing up the issue of Tibet altogether in international community.
