Tibetans in the San Francisco Bay area were honoured to meet Kungo Tethong Tenzin Namgyal, who was until recently the Chairman of the Kashag of the Tibetan Government-in-Exile, while he visited San Francisco.

In the evening of June 4, 1995, Tibetan Association of Northern California invited him to the Berkeley Fellowship of the Unitarian Universalists to meet the members of the Tibetan community and to a dinner in his honour. He met the Tibetans and gave a good talk, and later had tea with the Executive members of the Association.
