Please mail this letter or your own version to the Nepalese embassy and copy one to the Nepalese mission in New York.
DRAFT LETTER
His Excellency Basudev Dhungana Ambassador The Embassy of Nepal 2131 Leory Place, N.W. Washington, DC 20008
Your Excellency,
I am writing this letter to you to express my deep concern at the news that the Nepalese border police on May 6, 1995 handed over 33 Tibetans trying to escape Tibet to the Chinese police.
The Tibetan refugees are escaping from harsh Chinese rule in Tibet, where the continuing human rights abuses have been condemned by parliaments and human rights groups around the world.
We appeal to your government to permit all future Tibetan refugees to pass through Nepal to India where the Tibetan refugees only wish to join with their beloved leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and to seek peace and freedom which they are being denied in Chinese- occupied Tibet.
Your sincerely,
SIGN
