BEIJING, Aug 16 (Reuter) - The Norbusa chromite mine in in Tibet has become the largest of its kind in China, with annual production capacity of 55,000 tonnes and fixed assets of 100 million yuan, Xinhua news agency said.
Norbusa in Qusum county is rich in deposits of chromite and its chromite contains over 57 percent of chromic oxide, it said.
Construction of the mine was a key state project in the eighth five-year plan period (1991-1995), with a total investment of 85.6 million yuan, it said.
