BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Kyodo) -- The Lhasa municipal government issued regulations aimed at ensuring security and social order on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Tibetan Autonomous Region on Sept. 1, China's state press reported Friday.
The anniversary will be marked by the opening of the newly renovated Potala Palace Square, Xinhua News Agency reported, saying a special committee was set up to administer security at the square.
''The committee's first order was to ban any unauthorized construction, shopping stalls, or posters on the square. Open fires and the piling up of stones will also be banned, according to the committee's orders,'' Xinhua said.
