LONDON, Sept 6 (Reuter) - Hollywood star Richard Gere would be happy to become a Buddhist monk in this life, or the next.
Twenty years a Buddhist, he is warm in praise of Tibet's Dalai Lama but disillusioned by U.S. President Bill Clinton.
Asked by Hello Magazine if he could imagine becoming a Buddhist monk in a future life, the 46-year-old Gere said: "Yes of course. Or even in this one."
Gere was tough on Clinton, whom he actively supported in his presidential campaign.
"He made a lot of promises -- to help homosexuals with AIDS, to support Tibet. We talked a lot about human rights in China. He's forgotten all those problems. I haven't seen him since the elections and I don't feel the need to."
