On March 9th more than 200 people gathered in Moscow at Poushkinskaja Plaza to demonstrate against the occupation of Tibet, for the opening of Sino-Tibetan negotiations, and for the freedom of the Panchen Lama. Speakers included Nawang RABGHYAL (Representative of the Dalai Lama in Russia, CSI, and Mongolia), Dulma SHAGDAROVA (President of the Moscow Tibet Support Group), Nikolaj KHRAMOV (Coordinator of the TRP in Russia), and Margerita KOZHEVNIKOVA (President of the Saint Petersburg TSG).

About one hundred signatures were collected during the manifestation for a petition requesting that the mayor of Moscow dedicate a square to "Free Tibet."
