SUMMARY REPORT
In December, 1993, the UN Secretary-General submitted to the Fifth
Committee of the General Assembly a report on the financial requirements of
the Tribunal for the biennium 1994/1995. These costs are estimated at US$
33,2 million. The Assembly has already authorized a sum of US$ 5,6 million
to cover the estimated costs for the Tribunal's first six months of
activities.
On the estimated budget of US$ 33,2 million - calculated after a
revaluation of the activities of the Tribunal, a new exchange of views with
the Dutch government and on the basis of up-dated technical informations -
a final decision will be taken by the General Assembly around April, 1994.
Such a decision will also take into account the voluntary contributions
that may directly come from single Member States, including technical
support and personnel, and the reassessment of costs after the first few
months of activity.
