The state legislature in Florida has asked all agencies to submit budgets

with 25% cuts in them, and there is a story in the TALLAHASSEE DEMOCRAT this

morning about the response of the agency in charge of dealing with appeals

of death penalties by defendants: His response was to propose doing away

with the death penalty.
