X-Comment: The Transnational Radical Party List
January 24, 1995
To the members of this list:
The past couple of weeks should have been enormously educational for
all those who have followed or participated in the death penalty debate on
this list.
I think it is quite obvious now that, although capital punishment may
not be an effective deterrent the way it is implemented now, it can be if the
barriers which cripple it's effectiveness are removed. No one on this list has
heard a good argument against the death penalty that has not been completely
undermined by reference to fact and reason. Moreover, the arguments advanced
in favor of the death penalty have withstood the harshest criticism.
This being the case, I propose that members of the Transnational
Radical Party call not for an abolishment to the death penalty, but for its
legalization everywhere. To this end, I am willing to supply the American
members of this list with names and addresses of Congressmen and Senators of
the United States so that they may bend the ears of their representatives in
Washington on this very urgent matter. I also suggest that members in other
countries volunteer in similar fashion.
For those interested in obtaining the names and addresses of
representatives in Washington (if you do not know them already) email me
informing me of the state and district you live in, and I will gladly forward
you the information.
Sincerely,
Daniel A. Dorry, Esq.
