Prime Minister of the Republic of Bosnia-Hercegovina
Brussels, 29 May 1995
Dear Prime Minister,
at this particularly tragic time for Bosnia Hercegovina, and therefore for
Europe, we have learned of the deliberate murder of our dear friend Izet
Muhamedagic, Vice-Minister of Justice of your country. You are aware,
because we know that Izet told you about it himself, of Izet's activity in
our party over the last four years, and the friendship which had grown
between Izet and many of us. On our part, we are aware of his deep
friendship, not only political, with you.
We will continue to try to honour the reasons of our friendship with Izet,
by pursuing with humility and tenacity an initiative which we have begun
and which many others have supported: the initiative for immediate Bosnian
membership of the European Union.
Please accept our deepest commiserations, in the knowledge that we share
your grief.
