Statement by H.E. Ambassador Raul Llustre Goco

[...] With the diplomatic conference less than a year away, the Philippine delegation sees that immense progress has been made in formulating a draft consolidated text to be presented and subjected to final negotiations in Rome. A spirit of cooperation and hard work has prevailed through much of the Preparatory Committee sessions. It is our hope that this spirit prevails in the months ahead as we still have an arduous task at hand, with substantial issues to resolve.

Since this is the last opportunity to formally express views in the Sixth Committee before the Diplomatic Conference in Rome next year, the Philippines would like to add a few remarks to keep in mind and contemplate as we proceed to Rome.
