The State Committee for Extraordinary Situation issuered Resolution No.1 which orders as well to suspend activity of political parties and organization that hinder normalization of situation in the country; prohibits all manifestation, mass actions and strikes; takes under control of a special body under the auspices of the State Committee all mass media in the country.

Another Resolution limited the number of newspapers in Moscow. Until the special decision only few conservative newspapers can continue their work and printing in Moscow.
