HIGH TENSIONS AT THE KOSOVA-ALBANIA BORDER AREA

Sources of the LDK branch in Gjakova say that on Tuesday (17 August) in the evening, heavy Serbian forces were heard shooting at the mountains of the Botusha village. The shootings, according to the same sources, lasted till yesterday (Wednesday) noon. Maltreatment of the local residents have been reported. These sources do not make mention of any casulaties.
Meanwhile, Serbian local daily "Jedinstvo" reporting in its today's (Thursday) edition from Gjakova says that at the border area with Albania two ethnic Albanian children [from Kosova] were killed. "Jedinstvo" says: "Two armed civilian persons, probably soldiers of the Albanian Army, according to unofficial sources, crossed the border with the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and at a border port killed two children of Albanian minority ethnicity".
