22 ALBANIAN MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHERS ARRESTED IN SUHAREKA
As reported, the Serbian police intervened yesterday (Tuesday) at the "Jeta e Re" middle school in Suhareke, at a time when exams were under way. The police arrested 22 teachers, the school secretary and a school superintendent. They were taken to the police station, to the socalled "informative conversation".
The Serb police officers were especially curious to know about the forms of the educational process organization.
The local LDK (Democratic League of Kosova) Information Commission reports that they were released around 16:00 hrs.
TWO ALBANIAN FAMILIES RAIDED
The Serbian police raided on Monday two Albanian families at the Grazhdanik village of Prizren. A Serbian police expedition, under the pretext of arms searches, raided the homes Pren Mesulaj and Nduc Gjoni. During the search, which lasted for several hours, Pren Mesulaj and his two sons were severely beaten up in presence of the other family members.
As reported, Pren Mesulaj was detained and still in custody.
THE SERBIAN POLICE BEAT UP TWO ALBANIAN STUDENTS
The Serbian police repression against the Albanian-language schools has intensified on the eve of the new school year. Thus, two Albanian middle school students, Adnan Mehani and Lulzim Zymberi from the Bashkia village of Obiliq, were detained yesterday at around 10:00 hrs. in Prishtina. They were taken to the police station where they were beaten up and kept until 14:00 hrs.
They were released after they were confiscated their school certificates.
