REPRESENTATIVES OF THE BRITISH EMBASSY IN BELGRADE MET WITH LDK OFFICIALS
Officials of the LDK, Dr.Fehmi Agani, Vicechairman, Miss Edita Tahiri and Dr.Rexhep Ismaili, members of Presidency, met today in Prishtina with Mr.Tim Clifton, First Secretary, and Mr.Nat Dawbarn, Second Secretary and Information Officer of the British Embassy in Belgrade. The British Embassy representatives were briefed by LDK officials on the current situation in Kosova, which they described as very grave due to permanent Serbian repression and violence against the Albanians. Particular emphasis was given to the educational issues and forms Serbian authorities use to hinder Albanian schools. British Embassy officials visited on Monday and Tuesday Prizren and Peja, where they also met with local LDK officials.
MOVEMENTS AND CONCENTRATION OF SERBIAN MILITARY IN PRISHTINA AND FUSHE-KOSOVA
Early today, heavy Serbian military movements were noticed in the streets of Prishtina and its suburbs. Similar movements were also reported noticed in other Kosova centers. Today, at around 9.30 hrs, a convoy of military tanks and vehicles paraded through the village of Sllatina e Madhe (Fushe-Kosova) and were stationated at the vicinity of the village.
ANOTHER STAGED TRIAL RESUMES IN GJILAN
As reported by the Serbian Prishtina-based Jedinstvo, the Serbian-run Municipal Court in Gjilan began the trial against several Albanians charged with 'gathering with the intention of hostile activities and violation of the integrity and territorial entirety of Yugoslavia'. Nexhmedin Hajdini (23), from Terstenik, Avni Zejnullahu (23) from Ramjan, Selami Neziri (21) from Sllatina e Ulet, Hazbi Hyseni (22) from Ramjan and Emin Maliqi, from Terpeza, all from the Vitina municipality, are accused for being members of an 'hostile organization' called 'The National Movement for the Liberation of Kosova', the intention of which, as the indictment says, was 'to sceede all Albanian inhabitated territories from Yugoslavia and their unification with Albania', today's Jedinstvo says. According to the newspaper, citing Serbian judges, the accused are charged in fact with a single committed act, the distribution of a program tract of this organization on 6 May 1993.
THE HOME OF A KOSOVA MP SEARCHED IN KLINA
As reported, today at around 4.00 hrs., a Serbian police expedition raided on the home of Gani Veseli, Kossova Parliament Member, at the village of Grabanica of Klina. The Serbian police searched the home and beat Kujtim and Ismet Veseli, family members, and arrested Haki Veseli, brother of Gani. Hilmi Veseli was ordered to appear tomorrow at the police station. As reported by the LDK Commission for Information in Klima, home searches were intensified in the Klina municipality in last couple of days. The Serbian police searched the home of Muje Bashota at the village of Cerovik. Family members Miftar, Muje, Naim and Male Bashota were reported to have been beaten by the police on the occasion. The reason for the search was not known.
TWO OTHER FORMER OFFICERS ARRESTED
The campaign of arrests of Albanian former army officers has been continuing. As reported, today at around 4.00 hrs., the Serbian police arrested Rrustem Demaj, former reserve officer, from the village of Vrella of Istog. Another Albanian former officer, Ejup Dragaj was reported arrested today in Peja.
