President of the Republic of Bulgaria Dr. Zheliu Zhelev received foreign journalists accredited to Sofia, for the usual Christmas dinner. Among them, one Italian only: Michele Boselli from Radio Radicale.
"Mister President" - Boselli said to Dr. Zhelev - "I would like to express loyalty to your person and the presidential institution, against the irresponsible statements released by Zhirinovski the fascist".
"Thank you" - answered President Zhelev, adding that - "democratic stopgap is very difficult and there are inadequate individuals" (to do it, ndt).
As kwown from the international press, in the past days the russian fascist Zherinovski tried to destabilize the Bulgarian Presidency of the Republic threatening to replace Dr. Zhelev in favour of someone who nobody knows in this country.
Dr. Zheliu Zhelev, who is the legitimate, democratically elected President of the Republic of Bulgaria, dismissed those statements as "delirious".
During the meeting, President Zhelev underlined the necessity of economic help from the European Union to Bulgaria, which is a peaceful country blameless of the war in, and the embargo to, former Yugoslavia.
