Version in English of the text about the hunger strike which is going to begin on March 21st.
Such a nonviolent initiative proposes a dialogue, as any nonviolent initiative. A dialogue with and to the members of the 5th Commission of the UN General Assembly, which is scheduled to take a definitive and operative decision on the budget of the International Trivunal on war-crimes in former Yugoslavia.
It is a dialogue: a nonviolent hunger-striker is active, is even more active than he/she usually is. He/she is active in informing those who are on the other side of the dialogue about the contents, about the reasons of the hunger-strike, sending telegrams and faxes to the members of the Commission. As Mohandas Gandhi used to drink some milk during his hunger-strike, radical nonviolent hunger-strikers drink a cappuccino (with sugar; and whithout coffee, is better...) three times per day. It means not more than 400-450 Kcal. per day, just what can help to be fully active, together with those our friends who hold the hunger-strike with us.
when some healt problem would advice not to drink milk, no problem: three glasses of orange-juice (better if hand-made) are equivalent.
It is advisable to drink more water than usual , while in hunger-strike.
What to add? You'll feel quite hungry, but just during the first two days; then the hunger will disappear.
Do not forget, of course, to inform other hunger-strikers about your initiatives, using Agora', and go with telegrams, faxes, such as letters to TVs, radios, newspapers about what you are doing.
