The 2nd Conference of the Bulgarian Alliance for social-democracy took place in Sofia on May 21-22, 1994.
The sole non-Bulgarian guest attending the Conference was the Radical party's coordinator for Bulgaria; hereby follows his speech addressing the audience:
Mister president, dear friends from the Alliance for social-democracy,
I'm very honoured in taking the floor in this Conference in order to address you my best wishes for your works.
I already took part, two years ago in this hall, to your first Conference. Since then, Bulgaria continued its hard path of reform, - a road bristling with difficulties and sacrifices -, in a civil and democratic way, making itself an example in the frame of the troubled Balkan region. That is due also, among other, to the important role of a social-democratic political formation.
In these two years the transnational Radical party grew and got stronger in Bulgaria, among many other countries, obtaining some successful results in its campaign for a new effective international Right, thanks to the engagement of citizens and MPs belonging to different political parties, who laicly united in order to face problems of global dimension, in the name of non-violence and tolerance.
Probably the main support came from some MPs, members of the transnational Radical party, who I recognize in this hall and I allow myself to consider as dear friends: Chavdar Kiuranov, Elena Poptodorova, Sonia Mladenova, Philip Bokov, Stoian Ivanov, Dimiter Yonchev, Rossen Karadimov, and others.
Therefore, hoping to continue in a fruitful cooperation, I address you my most warm wishes for your works in this Conference.
Thank you for your attention.
