Today, on July 26, on Cuban revolution day, activists of Radical party from Kiev and Dnepropetrovsk organized a manifestation before the gate of Cuban Embassy with a demand to free political prisoners in Cuba. The anniversary of Cuban revolution was chosen for the action on purpose. On that day exactly radicals wanted to bring attention of community to violations of human rights, to numerous death penalties, that are passed and executed on the island.

The appeal letter was prepared and addressed to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cuban Republic in Ukraine. The letter contains the request for Cuban government in his person to free immediately some of Cuban political prisoners whose names are known and who represent symbolically about five hundred prisoners of conscience according to Amnesty International, or about ten thousand according to other humane organizations.

At 12:00 a.m. radicals came to the gate of the Embassy and tried to unfold transparencies with inscriptions "Freedom to Francisco Chaviano Gonzales", "Democracy to Cuba", "Freedom to political prisoners" and with names of nine Cuban political prisoners and demands to free them, written in Ukrainian and Spanish. Immediately have demonstrators come across two guardians of Cuban Embassy, however, who prevented radicals from unfolding transparencies and placing a picket. Guardians also hindered from TV and photo shooting of the action, motivating it with prohibition. They suggested demonstrators to cross the street and to carry out the action there, and that was done.

Responding to press releases, that were sent the day before, TV journalists from SIT-3 and "Gravis" TV companies, journalist photographer from Ukrainian Independent News Agency (UNIAN), and correspondent of Ukrainian News Agency "Republic" (URIAR).

In ten minutes after the beginning of the action, two interpreters of Cuban Embassy have come out to radicals, who congratulated them with the Cuban revolution day, explained the point of action, and asked to submit the letter to Mr. Ambassador. However, interpreters have refused to submit anything. An attempt to throw the letter through the gate was suppressed by guardians.

Elena Vorotnikova and Natalia Vasiliuk have told journalists about the point of action and about its details and results. The action was shot by two TV companies, that now are preparing the information for the air in the evening.

Radical activists Jim Mikhajlov and Marina Fokina from Dnepropetrovsk have come to support radicals from Kiev. Alone with Kiev radicals Andrej Prishchenko, Konstantin Klimenko, Natalia Vasiliuk, and Elena Vorotnikova, they have presented the initiative group of today's action of Radical party.
