(Tula, August 6) - The celebration of the 77th anniversary of the daily newspaper "Kommunar/Le Communard" was organized today in the Central Park of Tula city (a half million city in 180 km from Moscow). The paper which publishes regularly the materials of the Radical Party and whose director Mrs. Vera Petrjakova is Radical member for 1994, is the most popular newspaper in Tula region. Many rock musicians from Tula and Moscow have played in public on the scene, decorated by the logo of the "Kommunar/Le Communard" and big symbol of the Radical Party, during the art festival organized in the framework of the celebration.
Nikolaj Khramov, member of the Radical Party's General Council, has made an intervention speaking about the main initiatives of the party: for the creation of the permanent international tribunal on war crimes, for the abolishing of the death penalty by 2000, for the controlled legalization of drugs, etc. A particular attention he payt also to the necessity to change the draft law on alternative civilian service, prepared in Russian State Duma - an initiative to be undertaken by the Radical Party in a more wide context of anti-militarist campaign conducted by the party since the 70s. After the intervention of N. Khramov seven persons declared about their readiness to join Radical Party.
