DEATH PENALTY: Emma Bonino, secretary of Radical Party, and Mr. Sergio D'Elia secretary of "Hands Off Cain" the international campaign to urge a moratoria on capital punishment all over the world for the year 2000, wrote to Alfredo Biondi, italian Justice minister, expressing their satisfaction for his support to the campaign. This press news was released by the same Justice Department also adding that Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Martino will present to the United Nations General Assembly a project of resolution where it will urge U.N.'s State members that didn't do it yet, to abolish death penalty. This is to confirm the italian Government, the radicals and the italian people sensibility on this issue of a very important humanitarian and liberal value. To strenght the chance that such resolution will be approved - considering that 119 countries of 184 represented in the United Nations body are still applying death penalty and 4 of these countries are permanent members of the Security Council - itali
an foreign minister, Antonio Martino, sees the opportunity to formally present the resolution project once Italy election on Security Council will be fully on duty. The decision of Mr. Martino come after radicals demonstration, a 4 hours "walk around" under the sun of August, in front of "Palazzo Chigi", italian residence of Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
