... A great number of delegations has paid a keen attention to the question of the follow-up procedure concerning this draft statute in the debate. It seems to my delegation that the general response to the recommendation of the Commission has been positive and supportive. At the same time important differences have remained on this "ambitious project", such as the complementary nature of this Court to the existing national courts, questions related to jurisdiction and those related to the procedure of the Court, etc. That is why, in the view of the Hungarian delegation, there is an emergin consensus that some more time will be required for further reflection before a diplomatic conference is convened. We support therefore the establishment either of a preparatory committee or an ad hoc working group with a view to making the necessary changes in the draft statute and submitting proposals to the next session of the General Assembly on the convocation of a diplomatic conference, as appropriate...
