MOSCOW. MOSCOW "MEMORIAL" SOCIETY REPORTED THAT ON DECEMBER 25 THE HUMAN RIGHTS CENTER IS CREATED IN ORDER TO COLLECT INFORMATION AND CO-ORDINATE PUBLIC ACTIVITY IN THE CONTEXT OF EVENTS CURRENTLY HAPPENING IN CHECHNYA(Express-Khronika, Release 1417, December 25, 1994)

Coordination Center appeals to the public calling upon to express its opinion on the situation in Chechnya, sending telegrams and letters addressed to the Russian president Boris Yeltsin, as well as by means of other individual and collective actions. The "Memorial" Society reported also, that since December 25 the collecting of signatures under the appeal to the president Yeltsin, demanding "to stop the bloodshed in Chechnya" is initiated. The forms for collecting signatures are availiable in "Memorial" hadquarters on following address: 103051 Moscow, Malyj Karetnyj Per. 12 (Monday-Friday from 10.00 till 22.00, Saturday from 10.00 till 14.00).
