The Transnational Radical Party and Tibetan Friends' Associations worldwide will demonstrate and fast on March 10 in solidarity with non-violent struggle of Tibetan people for their freedom, as well as for a UN-sponsored conference on Chinese-Tibetan relations.
In Moscow on March 10 at 16.00 Radical Party and friends of Tibet will hold demonstration in front of the embassy of People's Republic of China (Ul. Druzhby, 6). They intend to present a petition to Jiang Zemin, the President of China.
This action is coordinated with actions in 42 other European and American cities, including Rome, New York, Washington, Brussels, Saint Petersburg, Kiev, Baku, Tbilisi, Budapest, Prague, Sofia, Madrid, etc. Over 500 people are fasting in a non-violent dialogue in solidarity with Tibetan people.
The actions on March 10 should express direct support for the March 10 Peace March, organized by Tibetan exiled and led by his Holiness the Dalai Lama. The March will start from Dharamsala, India on March 10 and is scheduled to reach New Delhi on April 7.
The day of March 10 is a tragic date in the history of Tibetan people. It is the anniversary of the Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule in 1959, the last attempt of Tibetans to liberate themselves. Several dozens of thousands of Tibetans were killed during the Chinese repression. The Chinese army has illegally occupied Tibet since 1949. Over 1.2 million Tibetans have died in Chinese labor camps. There has not been any international debate on the rights of Tibet and Tibetans in 30 years.
The Radical Party is a transnational, non-violent, non-ideological transparty with tens of thousands of members in 70 countries with its main hadquarters based in Rome. The RP lobbies the UN on democracy, peace and human rights issues and has led numerous militant non-violent campaigns in support of political recognition by the UN and governments of the Dalai Lama as head of Tibetan state. The key point in present Radical campaign in favour of Tibet is demand for a Chinese-Tibet conference under the U.N. aeghis.
