BOSNIA-HERCEGOVINA, A RADICAL SOLUTION: IMMEDIATE JOINT TO THE EUROPEAN UNION!

AN APPEAL OF THE RADICAL PARTY - SIGNED BY OVER 250 EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL PARLIAMENTARIANS - SUPPORTS THE ADHESION OF BOSNIA TO THE EUROPEAN UNION.

Brussels, Friday June 9th 1995. "We invite everyone to involve and organize everywhere in Europe in order that the Bosnian Republic officials, overcoming their legitimate caution and distrust, can file a formal application for the accession to the European Union and so that European authorities can accept such request without delay."

It is with this invitation that the Appeal of the Radical Party, transnational and cross-party, concludes in favour for Bosnia-Hercegovina entering the European Union, as a solution to the conflict which has blood-stained the country for three years now.

84 European parliamentarians - among them Marco Pannella, Otto von Habsburg, Jose' Maria Mendiluce, Wilfried Martens, Jean-Francois Hory, Doris Pack, Bernard Kouchner, Catherine Lalumière, Alex Langer, Daniel Cohn-Bendit -, and 175 national parliamentarians from every european country, maintain that only the accession to the European union of Bosnia-Hercegovina, in its internationally recognized borders, will assure the integrity of the country against any tendency to separation or annexation by other. Only in this framework it will be possible to start a real dialogue between the warring parties.

In support of the Appeal - also already signed by tens of personalities from culture to journalism and science -, a demonstration of citizens and parliamentarians is planned to be held on the occasion of the European council, in Cannes, June 26.
