BOSNIA-HERCEGOVINA: PRESIDENT OF THE PARLIAMENT MIRO LAZOVIC CALLS ON PARLIAMENTARIANS ALL OVER EUROPE AND THE WORLD TO SUPPORT THE RADICAL APPEAL FOR BOSNIA TO ENTER THE EUROPEAN UNION.
Rome, June 12th 1995 - The President of the Parliament of Bosnia-Hercegovina, Miro Lazovic, invites the parliamentarians all over Europe to underwrite and support the appeal recently launched by the Radical Party in favour for Bosnia to join the European union.
Supporting such proposal, Lazovic maintains, means turning a comfortable neutralistic position into taking the side of democracy against ultra-nationalism and fascism. It means also reaffirming, for Bosnia-Hercegovina as well as for the European union itself, the multi-ethnic and multi-cultural peculiarities, the spirit of tolerance and human society, which are the highest values of these cultures.
Mr Lazovic's letter, now spreading to parliaments of Europe, former Ussr and America, will be officially delivered to the next European Union summit meeting - which will take place in Cannes on June 26th -, at the end of a demonstration organized by the Radical Party.
