Yesterday, June 29 a routine reunion of the organizing committee of the Movement For Military Reform has taken place in the State Duma.
The main subject of discussion was the statute of the Movement. Shortly, the draft statute provides both individual and collective (for associations and parties) membership, absence of obligatory membership fees, territorial principle of organization (with regional branches). The statutory goals of the Movement are indicated as "transformation of Russia into a state of law with developed institutions of civil society and market economy which would guarantee legal order, stability, public accordance and civil peace; demilitarization of public conscience and social relations in political, economical and culture spheres; spiritual renovation and humanization of social life."
It is in particular provided the possibility for the Movement to take part in the political elections and to make electoral coalitions with other movements, parties and organizations.
The statute has to be adopted by the Founding Congress which is supposed to be held this Autumn.
Apart of A.R.A., at least three other organizations are participating for the moment in the efforts to create the Movement: Russia's Democratic Choice, Russian Committee of Soldiers' Mothers and Civic Peace Association.
As for me, frankly speaking I don't know if it is the case for Radical Party itself to take formally part in the Movement, or just A.R.A. is enough. I would appreciate, if Olivier as Radical Party's secretary and Danilo as treasurer, but also other Radical companions using this conference will express their opinion about the matter.
