APPEAL TO THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE UNITED NATIONS
Six young Tibetans on October 14 undertook a hunger strike calling on the United Nations and the world to end the illegal occupation of Tibet by the Popular Republic of China.
Although aware that the international community in general and the United Nations in particular do not yet have the necessary grasp so that they can comply today with the requests made by the young Tibetans, we believe it necessary that they give, with the utmost urgency, a sign that would indicate the hope of a new more attentive consideration of the Tibetan tragedy.
We therefore turn to you, Secretary General of the United Nations, to receive at the earliest possible date, the Dalai Lama, in order to define with him the possible steps towards the reinstatement in Tibet of the rights and the international legalities that have been violated.
