MOSKOW. FOURTH VIOLENT AGGRESSION AGAINST A MEMBER OF THE TRANSNATIONAL AND TRANSDIVISIONAL RADICAL PARTY. AFTER THE ASSASSINATION OF ANDREA TAMBURI AND THE BEATINGS OF NIKOLAY KHRAMOV AND SERGEJ VORONTSOV, ALSO THE WRITER VALENTIN OSKOTSKIJ WAS STRIKEN.
Moskow-New York, November 15, 1995. The fourth aggression in less than two years against a member of the Radical party was carried out in Moskow. The victim of such violence, which clearly appears to be politically motivated, is this time the elderly writer Valentin OSKOCKIJ, a member of the Commission for Grace with the President of the Russian Federation, of the "Hands Off Cain" Association for the abolishment of death penalty and the Anti-military Radical Association, and in addition director of the magazine "Literaturnye Vesti" and faculty member at the School of Journalism at the University of Moskow.
On the evening of November 3 he was attacked by four strangers near his home. He was seriously beaten (a concussion plus multiple fractures); they stole his briefcase with documents of the recent Anti-fascist Congress and articles on the Army reform.
The writer, who is still in a hospital, and who only yesterday was able to telephone, is a candidate to the upcoming political election due to take place in Russia on December 17 on the Federal Democratic Movement ticket.
On February 27, 1995, Andrea TAMBURI, in charge of the Radical party for ex Soviet Union, was himself fatally hit by strangers less than a hundred yards from the Moskow Central Police District, and died three days later in a Moskow hospital, registered under a different name. In April of this year, Nikolay KHRAMOV, Secretary of the Radical Anti-military Association, was attacked and received a head wound, and again in July, Sergej VORONTSOV, a militant of the Radical party and of the Radical Anti-military Association. None of the aggressors has ever been arrested and the Russian authorities, up until now, have not shown any willingness to cooperate, in particular with the Florentine General Prosecutor MARESCA who is handling the case of Andrea TAMBURI and who has recently denounced this lack of cooperation. Formal complaints have been presented concerning these episodes to the European Parliament as well as the Italian Parliament.
