(Chisinau, November 28, 1995) - Petru Munteanu, member of Directing Council of the Hands Off Cain and activist of the Radical Party, was received today by president Mircea Snegur of Moldova.

During the meeting, president Snegur expressed his support to the abolitionist efforts of Hands Off Cain and Radical Party. He also informed about recent legislative initiative on abolition of death penalty undertaken by him as head of state in Moldovian Parliament (this draft law tabled by president, is currently waiting for its parliamentarian debate).

He told also, that Mr Vasilii Sturza, Moldovian minister of justice will be ready to represent the Moldovian point of view on the necessity of abolition of capital punishment on the First Congress of Hands Off Cain which will take place in Rome in the middle of December.
