DECEMBER 6 - ACTION DAY

FOR CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTION BILL

NEWS CONFERENCE

OF THE ANTI-MILITARIST RADICAL ASSOCIATION (ARA)

will take place on Monday, December 4, at 3.00 pm

in Russian American Press & Information Center

(Khlebnyj per. 2/3, Western wing)

The news conference will be focused on the debating by the State Duma in second reading the federal draft law "On Alternative Civilian Service" which is scheduled on December 6, as well as on the actions for passing this law which will be organized in Moscow and several other Russian cities.

The initiative to organize on December 6 the Action Day for alternative civilian service, being launched by Anti-militarist Radical Association (ARA) and transnational Radical Party (RP), got adhesion from side of Russian Committee of Soldiers' Mothers (RCSM) and Anti-fascist Youth Action (AYA).

In the news conference will be participating:

* Nikolaj KHRAMOV - secretary of Anti-militarist Radical Association (ARA);

* Valerij BORSCEV - member of the State Duma (Jabloko), member of the Provisional Coordination Council of ARA;

* Valentina MELNIKOVA - secretary of Russian Committee of Soldiers' Mothers (RCSM), member of the Provisional Coordination Council of ARA;

* Petr KAZNACHEEV - president of the Anti-fascist Youth Action (AYA), member of ARA.
