MOSCOW. <03> "THE DRAFT LAW ON THE ALTERNATIVE CIVILIAN SERVICE SHOULD BE ADMITTED" -- Nikolay Khramov, the secretary of the Anti-military Radical Association stated. The statement was made at the Association press conference "December 6 -- the Day of Action for the Adoption of the Law on Alternative Civilian Service" taking place on December 4 at the Russian-American Press Centre.
The participants in the press conference reported that on December 6 the Association would arrange a picket near the State Duma office with slogans: "Law, Good Law, Law as Soon as Possible!" "Alternative Civilian Service -- Immediately!" "The Service for sake of Peace, not Bulding Batallions for Generals!" "Deputies! Vote for V. Borschyov's Amendments!" and others.
N. Khramov recognised that the draft law under consideration was not perfect. According to him as soon as the Law is adopted the Association will start to struggle for the amendments in it. At the same time N. Khramov thinks that the Law should be admitted because the President's edict On alternative service has been already prepared.
Valery Borschyov, a deputy of the State Duma, and Pyotr Kaznacheev, the chairman of the "Anti-Fascist Youth Action" Movement took part in the press conference.
