The following declaration will be submited to the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the Czech Parliament and to massmedias.
DECLARATION ON CHINA AND TIBET
We, the undersigned, oppose the violations of human rights in China and Tibet.
We demand the Czech Foreign Ministry and the Foreign Committee of the Czech Parliament to deal with human rights violations in China and Tibet and to react to them. The last step of Czech Foreign Ministry, which condemned sentencing of Wei Jingsheng and which drew attention to human right violations in China, is to be considered as a step in the right direction.
We request the Parliament of Czech Republic to adopt a resolution condemning the Chinese occupation of Tibet.
We stress that human rights are indivisible and if their violations are being overlooked anywhere in the world, it leads in effect to disregard for human rights also in this country.
We appeal to all people not to be indifferent to human rights violations and to criticize them openly.
