You may have heard from other sources, but I'm pleased to inform you that in Aberdeen, Scotland, the City Council have agreed to our request that the Tibetan Flag be flown from the Town House on March 10th.
A well publicised previous event in Aberdeen was the flying of the African National Congress flag from the Town House at the height of repression in South Africa by the apartheid system and while Nelson Mandela was in prison. The outcome we all know, but locally Nelson Mandela was subsequently granted the freedom of the City of Aberdeen. We are hoping for a parallel outcome in this instance.
Tibet Support Group, Grampian wishes you every success with your campaign and is grateful for your efforts.
Best regards,
David Lindsey (d.c.lindsey@abdn.ac.uk)
