All-Ukrainian Association of Gays and Lesbians "GANIMED" was registered by Ukrainian Ministry of justice on May 13, 1994. Activity of the Association is carried out on the whole territory of Ukraine.

The main goals of establishment and activity of "GANIMED" are:

-- support of health protection bodies; organization of an effective propagation of wholesome life style among sexual minorities, aimed at averting spread of AIDS and other diseases reproduced by sexual intercourses;

-- protection of legal social, economic, creative, age, national-and-cultural and other interests of sexual minorities.

The main tasks and fields of activity of "GANIMED" are:

-- organization of educational and informational activities in order to change public opinion and overcoming stereotyped views of citizens on gays' and lesbians' relations;

-- presentation of gays' and lesbians' interests at state departments and public organizations in Ukraine and abroad;

-- assistance for examination of male and female homosexuality problems, generalization of national research and information of that sphere;

-- assistance for social and psychologic adaptation of homosexuals in the society, promotion of cultural level;

-- support of creating interest clubs, acquaintance services, rest and leisure organization;

-- collaboration with similar organizations in our country and abroad in the field of statute activity.

In order to realize statute goals, in a legal way "GANIMED" Association

-- elaborates the program of its activity;

-- organizes informational, consulting, publishing and advertising activities;

-- organizes lectures, seminars, conferences and symposiums;

-- creates branches both in Ukraine and abroad;

-- informs members of "GANIMED" about world achievements in the field of the world medicine;

-- maintains direct contacts, concludes the appropriate contracts and participates in actions that do not contradict international obligations of Ukraine;

-- according to statute goals, realizes other activities that do not contradict Ukrainian legislation.
