Dear Olivier,
On behalf of the All Party Parliamentary Group in Tibet in the UK, we would like to send you our wholehearted support for your demonstration in Brussels on March 10th. As a Group, we recognize that Tibet is an independent state under occupation and that the Tibetan people have a right to self-determination. We call for the immediate cessation of all abuses of human rights against the Tibetan people and the cessation of calculated transfer of Chinese settlers into Tibet.
We call on all governments to take up the question of Tibet, in particular the implementation of the Tibetan peoples right to self-determination.
We are also most concerned about the safety of the Panchen Lama, Gendun Choekyi Nyima, his family and the abbot of Tashi Lhunpo monastery. We are equally concerned at recent news of the closure of a monastery and a nunnery in Tibet in a further attempt by the Chinese to quell any freedom of expression and Buddhist support for Tibetan independence.
Please be assured of our utmost support for your work. I would be grateful if you could pass on our very best wishes to all those participating in the Brussels March 10th demonstration. By working together in Europe, and globally, we can bring about a real change in Tibet.
Yours sincerely,
George STEVENSON MP
Chairman
